Coming on July 19: Transforming Chakra Energy from the Root to the Crown with Kundalini Yoga, Meditation & The Gong. This class is open to everyone, with no Kundalini Yoga experience required. Combined with mantra, meditation and the Gong, Kundalini yoga is uplifting and very clearing.
Kundalini yoga is considered “The Yoga of Awareness." It will benefit anyone:
- wishing to explore the Chakras or Kundalini Yoga
- feeling stuck
- looking for momentum toward an intention
- looking for change
- in need of a tune-up of the flow of Chakra energy
Chakras are the body's energy centers. Students will explore the lower chakras, which relate to how we live in the physical world through our bodies, security, relationships, fears, confidence and action. Aligning the lower chakras allows us to “rise up” into the lighter, more etherical upper chakras and explore our compassion, truth, intuition and sense of union or liberation.
Each class starts with an opening chant followed by some movements and breath work to warm up. Then we practice the Kriya or "set" which includes backbends, navel/core poses, hip openers and inversions with conscious breath work and powerful Breath of Fire, including a blissful chant. Next comes a long relaxation/savasana with The Gong.
The Gong is a sublime instrument of the Yogi. It can settle even the most active minds! It is healing to the nervous system, opens the heart and leads our attention inward. The mind is defenseless against the sound and vibration of the gong; it releases the torrents of thoughts in the mind and reduces tension.
Join me, whether you are new to Kundalini yoga or an experienced practitioner, and you may just take a deeper sense of Yourself into your yoga practice and your life.
