Why Yoga Works: A Workshop Combining Psychoeducation for Nervous System Regulation and a Restorative Yoga Practice

  • Inner Bliss Yoga Studio 30311 Clemens Road Westlake, OH, 44145 United States (map)

$50 per student

Gather with Jackie and Meghan who are excited to share their combined 34 years of yoga teaching with Meghan’s experience as a psychotherapist (LPC).

This workshop will explore the deeper “why” behind yoga’s impact on the mind and body and offer tools you will walk away with to help you access the calm within.

Ever wondered why yoga helps you feel calmer, clearer, and more grounded? This two-hour experience is designed to bridge the gap between practice and understanding. The first 45 minutes will offer accessible psychoeducation on how elements of yoga—breath, movement, nervous system regulation, and mindfulness—work together to support a more regulated, resilient state of being. You’ll gain insight into how these tools extend beyond the mat and into your daily life, relationships, and stress management.

The remainder of the workshop will transition into a candlelit, restorative flow designed to embody and integrate what you’ve learned. Through slow, intentional movement and a deeply calming yoga nidra practice, you’ll be guided into a state of rest and regulation, allowing both mind and body to fully absorb the experience. Hands on assists will be offered throughout the practice to enhance your mind-body awareness and aid in relaxation.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your practice, better understand your nervous system, or simply create space to reset, this workshop offers both knowledge and experience to support lasting calm and connection. Come as you are and leave with tools you can carry into your everyday life.
