Mike Nader

Certified and Registered Yoga Teacher

Mike Nader first began practicing yoga in 2004 in order to help his posture as a drummer.

What began as a physical practice quickly evolved into a mental practice, keeping him sane while he was on tour. After leaving the music industry, Mike went back to school and got a master’s degree in occupational therapy.

Originally from California, Mike taught with his mentor Bryan Kest at Santa Monica Power Yoga as well as Yogaworks in Los Angeles. His classes are complete practices with deliberate themes that include dynamic movement, breath work and meditation.

“My teaching style is a unique blend of California-style Vinyasa with traditional Hatha yoga. I hope students experience a well-rounded and accessible class that leaves you feeling challenged physically, yet calm and steady.”

I practice yoga because… it is a comprehensive practice that takes care of the body, breath, and mind. I also practice so I can be as nice as my wife.

I teach yoga because… I want to pass on what I’ve learned and share the potential that yoga has to offer.

I have been most influenced by… my teachers Bryan Kest, Rod Stryker and Rodney Yee.

Some of my favorite snacks are… spicy pistachios and popcorn.

I am happiest when I am… spending time with my kids.

I couldn’t live without… coffee and Italian olive oil.

My favorite mantra is… “So Hum” or I am.
