The Yoga Within with Katie and Kerrie
The yoga we practice on our mats doesn't have to be separate from the yoga we practice off our mats.
Does that look like doing Balancing Half moon in the grocery store? Chaturanga in the parking garage?
What does it look like to align our yoga practice with our lives? Ever wondered why, if we practice being more compassionate with our bodies in the yoga poses we practice on our mats, we may find that we are more compassionate to ourselves and to others?
Join us for an experiential immersion into the foundation of our yoga practice as we dive in to the first two limbs of Patanjali's 8 Limb Path of Yoga.
The Yamas (the restraints) and Niyamas (the observances) are the ethical and spiritual guidelines for living. We will explore the Yamas and Niyamas through a modern lens and discover how to weave the experiences of our bodies on the mat, to our experiences out in the world.
If you're curious about how your practice of yoga affects your relationship with self and others, join us for a book discussion of Deborah Adele's The Yamas and Niyamas followed by a physical practice of breathwork and movement centered around how these principles show up in our lives.
Each of the four meeting dates will focus on a set of yamas or niyamas. If you are unable to attend all 4 classes, no worries! Just come to the classes that work for you. Each class will cover a brief summary of the prior classes and build forward from there.
