Acknowledgements

This note was inspired by one of my favorite authors/teachers/leaders https://www.sethgodin.com (see his “acknowledgements”). Thank you to all of you out there, like Seth who are inspiring us all to find meaning in these days. Forgive my stream of consciousness writing - sometimes that is how emotions are best captured.

With deep gratitude - the kind that when you fully feel it, tears of giant emotion come to your eyes:

I acknowledge the healthcare professionals - all of them - nurses, doctors, their support staff, the individuals who are not experiencing an abundance of time on their hands - but just the opposite - working more hours than they have ever worked, in conditions that are risky, chaotic, and frustrating. I am indebted to each of them (the ones that I know and the majority that I do not) for their devotion to public wellness and commitment to our safety.

I acknowledge all of those who are not able to remain in the safety of their homes, but are considered essential to our basic needs. Those who don’t have a choice but must go to work each day and expose themselves and their families to potential risks - the law enforcement, government employees, fire fighters, grocery store teams, utility teams. Thank you for going to work so that I can remain safe and keep getting groceries, have heat, water, protections, etc.

I acknowledge the teachers - all of them - across this great land of CLE. Those who have had to change in a heartbeat, how they teach, connect and support our kids. I realize the tremendous effort the teachers are making to keep our kids learning and growing and in some sort of rhythm.

I acknowledge the accountants, lawyers, bankers and the insurance agents and all of those helping us navigate the financial implications fo COVID-19, trying to keep our families and businesses going. So grateful for your hard work.

I acknowledge the truckers, the postal service, the delivery service and everyone out there working so that food, supplies, stuff we need, etc is delivered to our stores and our homes. I am grateful I can still order and have things delivered to my house.

I acknowledge our team bliss and all of the other teachers out there bringing yoga and many other healing modalities into our homes so that we can continue to take care of ourselves mentally and physically. I am grateful that they stay inspired and inspire us.

I place my hands together in front of my heart, and I bow in honor to all of these individuals and their families (and all of the others I may not have mentioned) for their service and good work. I acknowledge the sacrifices you all are making and while I cannot fully understand your day to day difficulties, I am grateful for your willingness to endure those hard moments, hours and days.

I encourage you to write your own “acknowledgements”. It is a valuable practice.

Thank you all for reading my writing and giving me purpose to write. 🙏

Big love, Tammy
