Certified & Registered Yoga Teacher
I came late to yoga, literally and figuratively. I didn't begin a regular practice until I was in my late 30's. A friend suggested that I try yoga when I was looking for a way to change the way I felt in my body, especially after having 4 children.
I will always remember racing to my first yoga class after preschool drop-off, arriving 10-minutes late, mat flailing, shoes falling, and I'm pretty sure my shirt was on inside-out. What was a doing here? I was immediately greeted by a soothing Bliss Maker and then made my way into the calming studio. By the end of that first class I was physically spent, and spiritually calmed. I had found my sanctuary in breath and movement.
Wanting to deepen my practice, and revive my love of teaching, I completed the Inner Bliss 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training course in May, 2014. Since then I've been assisting several classes per week here at Inner Bliss. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a student transform through their practice. I'm so honored to be a witness to this work.
The best thing about Yoga is… that each time you step on your mat, the practice meets you exactly where you are.
I Believe in CLE because… it's where I choose to raise my family, and every child needs fertile land to grow their roots. I want my children to live in a city ripe with opportunity, beauty, and pride.
I’m so blessed… to wake each day, surrounded by a loving family and genuine friends, and to have the opportunity to make a difference in this world
What makes me come alive is... inhaling and exhaling, teaching yoga, listening to music, looking at art, and laughing -laughing so hard no sound comes out and my eyes water.
I am not defined by... the shape and size of my pants, my bank account, or my mistakes.
The breath... is the great equalizer. Its what connects me to the source, the present, and to you.
Favorite indulgence... A triple decaf latte, around 3 PM, right before the witching hour starts with after school homework and kids activities.
How I unwind... with a glass of red and some mellow tunes. I'm always interviewing songs for my yoga playlist.
The best hugs are... the ones where you let go last.
Words that lift my heart… Begin Again.
