I fell in love with yoga when… I realized how free my soul felt when I would close my eyes and just let me body move.  

Favorite indulgence... an afternoon walk up to The Root Cafe in Lakewood for a coffee and scone.

Most inspiring book… "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz. These simple, accessible principles are a reminder that we choose the life we want to live.  "How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk," by Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish.  This book completely changed my communication as a parent.  

How I unwind… Dancing to records on our turn table with my family. The Rolling Stones are our favorite to groove to!  

The best thing about yoga is... how your practice begins on the mat, and then transitions into your life. It becomes something that you live, and feel in your heart and soul.  Yoga makes you a more sensitive being and helps you to see the world through new eyes.  It gives you the ability to see love everywhere.    

I believe in CLE because... of the growing yoga community, local food movement, year round festivals, the lake, art, amazing restaurants, the weather (just kidding)!    

I wish for… my children to live in a more kind and loving world.  I wish for a cleaner planet where we leave a lighter foot print.  I wish for yoga to flourish in the world.

Words that lift my heart… mother, balance, simple, joy, flow, goddess, light, love, peace, freedom, strength, surrender, open, explore, divine

The best hugs are... from toddlers!

In my next life, I would like to be... an adventurous, free spirited, back packer that would travel the world.  I would buy a one way ticket and just see where life would take me. I would love learning about new cultures and meet so many interesting people. Carrying everything I needed on my back would feel so liberating.

I first started practicing yoga in my living room with VHS tapes as a teenager. At the time I was a competitive figure skater, and enjoyed the flexibility aspect of yoga. There was a lot of pressure and constant competition while skating and performing, and after 14 years, I was ready for a change. I decided to trade in my skates for a yoga mat!

Once I started practicing regularly, I was hooked. I quickly learned that yoga is about the Self, not about competing with others. Yoga transformed me in so many ways: It brought balance into my life, provided a stronger mind-body-spirit connection, and is an opportunity for continual growth.

After I developed my practice, I wanted to share my love and enthusiasm for yoga with others and become a teacher. I completed the 200-hour EFWA Program with Deanna Black in 2008. I am growing as a teacher everyday and hope to inspire others to bring yoga into their lives. I believe that once you have an open mind and heart, you can receive all of the wonderful physical and spiritual benefits of yoga. My classes are fun, energizing, vibrant, and have a dance-like vinyasa flow style.
