Growing up in the Youngstown area, I longed for more culture and diversity. A little over 9 years ago I moved to Cleveland, and I still believe that was the best decision I have ever made. I fell in love with Lakewood soon after.

Currently a student at CSU, I will soon graduate with a education degree in Special Education. With the stress our students are experiencing currently in school, I hope to bring a calm and positive classroom environment to my students. 

Yoga has been a part of my life for 2 1/2 years. I have not only learned how to accept others for who they are, but I have also learned how to accept myself. Everyday I practice to open my heart to those who need it most. After a day full of exuberance, I try to hit my mat (even if its just for a juice child’s pose). I have realized the importance of practicing pertinence and contentment through yoga.

Oh, I can’t go without mentioning my three lovely cats and husband. They make my world spin and help keep me centered.

Why yoga? Yoga became a part of my everyday life 6 years ago. I walked into a class at Inner Bliss and instantly I felt home. Yoga and the breath help me work though "my stuff" and I truly feel lighter after practicing.

What makes you come alive? Learning and remaining resilient. 

Three words to describe your teaching style? Well, I teach the kids so my classes are full of laughter and fun! 

Life before yoga? Crabby

Life with yoga: I am Learning how to manage my emotions and to be less reactive to things that are out of my control. Before yoga, I was very reactive and a "hot head". Life with yoga has helped me stay present and to be willing to experience what comes by way with a open mind and heart. 

Secret pleasure: Okay, if I am honest it's fast food! 

What is in your backpack? Headphones, a charger, paper clips, pencils, highlighters, my planner, a calendar, deodorant, hair tie, a pair of earrings, chapstick, my kids yoga planning notebook :).

What impact do you want to leave on the world? Being a special education teacher and kids yoga instructor, I want to help children and teens feel comfortable with who they are. I want to help them learn how to be respectful to their peers and teachers. Most importantly, I want to teach them how to be compassionate to others. 

If you had 4 legs & you were furry, what would you be? A cat! They are zen masters! 

You are stuck on an island and can bring 3 things. What would they be? My husband, a pair of earrings, and my yoga mat of course!
