The Wandering Yogi: The Yoga Hive in Pittsburgh, PA

This was a worthwhile trip to visit this gem of a studio in Pittsburgh.

When I walked in I immediately fell in love with this quaint space.

I was greeted by Krystle (see her picture above) who was darling and over the top welcoming. She told me she loves checking in for her own classes because she gets to meet every one of her students face to face.

When class began I continued to be impressed by Krystle with her great energy and positive vibe along with her uplifting reminders such as  "life is not about what happens to us, it's just what happens".

Her class was a vinyasa flow without heat and or music, until the very end, which I am not used to but enjoyed every moment. The sequence was wonderful and felt natural in my body as we flowed gracefully through the a Sun A sequence along with many twists and hip openers such as half moon and pigeon.

When I was leaving I told her I was going to put her in my trunk and take her back to Cleveland to work with us. The world is a better place because of teachers like Krystle!

Visit the Yoga Hive at either of their two locations in Pittsburgh:

  • 2517 Penn Avenue in the Strip District
  • 5491 Penn Avenue in the Garfield/Friendship neighborhood

The Wandering Yogi also happens to be the Studio Manager at Inner Bliss, Michelle Hunt. She is a smiley soul who is deeply committed to her yoga practice. Read Michelle's bio →
